Which communication technologies are used?+
VERAUT uses in particular GSM, radio, NB-IoT and 4G/LTE technologies. Which technology makes sense depends on the application, network availability and the energy profile of the application. NB-IoT is particularly suitable for smart metering in buildings due to its good building penetration.
Are battery-powered applications possible?+
Yes. Battery operation is one of VERAUT's core competences. The systems are designed for battery life of up to 10+ years – with hourly transmission and without mains power. This enables self-powered operation at locations without local power supply.
What role does ATEX play in VERAUT products?+
ATEX is addressed specifically where products and application areas require it – in particular with the VERIBOX-MINI for ExZone 1 applications. It is not a blanket company statement, but a specific product characteristic.
Can existing meters and systems be integrated?+
Yes. The solutions are designed to integrate into existing backend, cloud and monitoring systems. The VERILOG platform supports common export formats (CSV, XML, K5, XLSX, JSON) and an open API for connection to existing system landscapes.
Where is the measurement data stored?+
All measurement data is stored on servers in Linz, Austria. Data storage is GDPR-compliant under Austrian and European law – no US server risk, full TLS encryption.
