Use cases
Service connections
Single-family/multi-tenant houses, sub-meters, rent & operating cost billing.
Estates & districts
Building complexes, business parks, campuses — central/remote readout possible.
Industry & processes
Consumption monitoring, leak detection, process flow measurement.
Connectivity & communication
The meter can be read conventionally via pulses or M-Bus/Modbus. For remote monitoring and visualization in VERILOG, several energy-efficient radio options are available. NB IoT transmits directly and without additional gateways to the VERAUT cloud. wMBUS, LoRa and combinations operate via gateways or by walk/drive-by.
NB IoT
Low-power cellular connection straight to the cloud — no gateways required.
wireless M-Bus (wMBUS)
wMBUS readout via gateway or walk/drive-by for buildings & collection points.
LoRa
Long-range LoRa transmission with gateway integration.
Combination LoRa & wMBUS
Hybrid solution for redundancy and demanding networks.
Pulses
S0/reed — easy integration into existing systems.
wired M-Bus/Modbus
Standardized fieldbus interfaces for reliable data collection.
How the VUSWM works
VERAUT NB IoT Box — Beyond standard. Smart connectivity, reimagined.
The VERAUT NB IoT Box is more than just a radio module. It is firmly integrated into the meter, preconfigured, and features dynamic energy management that intelligently adapts to temperature, network availability and transmission behavior. A watchdog logic ensures self-healing connections — even in challenging radio environments.
From meter to dashboard
Depending on connectivity, measurement data is read locally or securely transmitted to the VERAUT cloud and visualized in the VERILOG dashboard.
VUSWM → (NB IoT / wMBUS / LoRa / M-Bus / Modbus / pulse) → cloud/server → VERILOG.

What is the practical advantage of ultrasonic meters?
Ultrasonic meters have no moving parts and therefore hardly wear. They measure very accurately — even at low flow rates — cause a low pressure loss and are low-maintenance. They can also be easily integrated into monitoring and billing systems thanks to multiple connectivity options (NB IoT, wMBUS, LoRa, M-Bus/Modbus, pulse).
What applications is VUSWM designed for?
For service connections (single-family/multi-tenant homes), estates/districts, commercial and industrial — wherever precise and robust water flow measurement is required.
Which remote options are available?
NB IoT (direct, without gateway), wireless M-Bus (wMBUS) and LoRa (via gateways or walk/drive-by) as well as combinations (e.g., LoRa & wMBUS). Alternatively, pulse and wired M-Bus/Modbus are available.
How does the data get into VERILOG?
Depending on the variant, data is transmitted wirelessly directly to the VERAUT cloud and visualized in the VERILOG dashboard. Alternatively: local readout and import.
How long does the battery last?
Up to 12 years depending on transmission interval and radio quality — thanks to the NB-IoT Box’s dynamic energy management.
How is data security ensured?
End-to-end encryption, GDPR-compliant processing and role-based access in VERILOG.
